Get Darkrai using Tweaking Glitch (Without Action Replay)
by How to Catch Darkrai ~ December 23rd, 2009Watch the above video to get an idea about how this particular glitch works! This glitch is not full understood yet, but below are some FAQs that might help with some problems you could run into:
Help! Having trouble tweaking, I can’t get the right Abyss!
Watch the video response to this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oFyYTtfzFg
That pattern is guaranteed to get you the right abyss if done correctly. It might take some practice to get it right, but it will work.
Also, to clarify: The video doesn’t show it, but when tweaking, you need to turn the game off/on after every “freeze” because the game won’t unfreeze itself. Then you go for another try until you get the right abyss. It’s smart to save right below the tweak spot so that if you have to reset, you’ll be in position for another try.
I’m lost in the Void! How do I get out?
Look for a Turnback Cave location in the Void, and use Escape Rope/Dig. You should be back at the Poketch Building in the real Jubilife City. You can also use Fly from a Jubilife City area. Do not save in the Void while trapped in darkness! If anything, reboot and you’ll be back where you saved with the Kit, and then head down until you reach a Turnback cave and then escape from there.
Also, if you attempt to fly away from a Jubilife City area, and your cursor is not on the map, just press down for a little while and it should come up. The cursor might just be out of sight at the top.
My screens went black while riding in the Void, but I can still hear the music playing. What do I do?
If the music is playing still, chances are your game is “not” frozen yet but you just can’t see your character or poketch. Keep riding onward until you hear Jubilife City music in the background. Then pop open the menu and open up any category. When you exit the menu, your graphics may return to normal. This doesn’t always work. If it doesn’t, it’s always safer to redo that step over from the last pace you saved.
I was going up the 65,000 and when I was almost there I ran into a freeze/elevator/person!!!
Sometimes you may trigger game events such as facing your rival, talking to Cynthia, or just a freeze while riding in the Void. This could mess up the process. You can reboot, beginning from the last pace you saved, and head up again – but this time take a “detour” around the place where you ran into something. For instance if at 59,000 steps your game froze, then at 58,900 steps go left 100 steps, then proceed to go up maybe a few hundred steps, then back to the right 100 steps and continue up as normal. [make sure to subtract the steps you took on the detour from the total of your Poketch step count]
I saved at Newmoon Island, and now my game is frozen! What can I do?
This is by far the worst scenario. You will need to restart the game. If you have Pokemon Ranch, you can transfer your pokemon to it before having to restart, but you probably won’t be able to get them out of the Ranch.
It is not known why the game sometimes freezes when the explorer kit is used. However, it seems to happen more when the menu is opened while at Fake-Sinnoh, but this is not 100% verified. It’s nearly impossible to isolate all the variables that could cause the freezes in some games and not others. The best thing to do would be to use an experimental game for the glitch.
Nintendo has recognized and taken responsibility for several glitches in their games, and might offer the service to aide in the recovery of the file. More info on this soon….
I hope this helps!
I’m not an expert by any means, and this glitch is still not fully understood, but still, just ask if you have a question.
Good Luck!
